Big news! We are officially launching the Blue Governance Project.

The Blue Governance Project is a pioneering initiative dedicated to placing the Ocean at the heart of organisational decision-making.

Led by Ocean Vision Legal and TogetherForTheBetterGood , the project is developing frameworks, standards, and practical governance models to help businesses, NGOs, foundations, and other organisations integrate the Ocean into their governance, strategy, risk management, and accountability systems.

Despite emerging support for Ocean Rights and emerging models to integrate nature into decision-making, these efforts lack clear standards and frameworks. Recent studies highlight significant gaps in how companies and organisations disclose their impacts on the Ocean, particularly on marine biodiversity. Recognising nature-related risks as financial risks underscores the importance of incorporating Ocean-related considerations into corporate governance, especially since companies may face liability for failing to integrate these considerations.

The Blue Governance Project will change that.

Our vision is ambitious but realistic: to build a credible, scalable standard for Ocean-centric governance and foster a growing community of organisations committed to embedding stewardship, accountability, and regeneration into the way they operate.

We are currently seeking forward-thinking organisations and partners interested in helping shape and pilot the future of Blue Governance.
If your organisation is interested in being a pilot partner, or contributing to this emerging field, we would love to hear from you!
